The Philippines hopes there will be no repeat of the dark chapter of WW2 but it's always ready to fight for what's right and just, PNoy declared yesterday. In the annual commemoration of Araw ng Kagitingan at this historical memorial site the President highlighted the Pilipinos readiness to confront any challenge while paying tribute to the Pilipino war veterans as well active soldiers defending the country's national territory and sovereignty. PNoy recalled that the Philippines an American colony transitioning into an independent nation became involved in WW2 since US forces were still in the country. Today more than 70 years after the war the PNoy said the countries that were once on opposing sides are now on the same boat. The US and Japan are now considered the Philippines 2 strategic allies. To prevent the repeat of the war PNoy maintained that the lessons of the past shouldn't be forgotten.
