Special Criminal Court Sought for PDAF Scam
Senate Majority Leader Alan Cayetano asked yesterday the Supreme Court to designate a special criminal court to hold daily trials on the politically charged Php 10 Billion Pork Barrel/PDAF Scam. Cayetano said the High Tribunal would be leaving a legacy when it's able to have, through the social criminal court, continuous trials on the case to hasten it's resolution. He issued the call forwarding fears that political affiliations and loyalties might render meaningless all of the efforts of the Aquino administration in weeding out graft and corruption in government, particularly the case filed by the Dept. of Justice with the Office of the Ombudsman against those involved in the pork Barrel/PDAF Scam. VP Binay had issued statements belittling the Dept. of Justice's efforts in going after those involved in the Pork Barrel Scam some of whom are his staunch allies in the opposition. He's a declared aspirant in the forthcoming 2016 presidential elections. Sen. Cayetano said the Binay statements are raising fears from the ranks of the Pork Barrel Scam whistle blowers and state witnesses the case might be abandoned once he wins as a president.
