Mother Seeks Help to Her Twins for Immediate Surgery
Conjoined twins Jennalyn and Jerrylyn are comforted by their father Jayson de Guzman beside their mother Ludy in their house in Brgy. Vacante, Bautista, Pangasinan. The couple is seeking an assistance to separate the twins and allow them to live normal lives. She was first seen on television asking for a financial help for her twins. Thus far none has approached her to offer help. Based on the medical records of the twins, they were delivered on Dec. 8, 2013 at the Reg. 1 Medical Center by Caesarean Section or birth through an incision in the abdominal wall and uterus. Twins Jennelyn and Jerrylyn de Guzman were very normal and with no sickness since they were born but the pediatrician, Dr. Ma. Cecelia Nerona, advised the mother to go to a surgeon. The Reg. 1 Medical Center Surgery Section advised Ludy to let her twins undergo a CT Scan or computerized axial tomography with Aniogram to determine if the twins can be separated by a surgical operation. The test may involve injecting a radioactive contrast into the body with computers used to scan for radiation and create cross-sectional images of internal organs according to medical sources. Meanwhile, Dr. Mike Canto, Reg. 1 Medical Center spokesman said they had almost 5 deliveries of conjoined twins previously. Unfortunately, all died after few days. But he said the case of De Guzman is different where they show good chances to live a normal life. An earlier ultrasound on mother Ludy disclosed her twins had one liver connecting them.
