SM North EDSA Struck by Martilyo Gang
4 suspected members of the Martilyo gang reportedly conducted a heist inside SM North EDSA in Quezon City Sunday night. Reports have been sketchy, however with no details of what was taken allegedly from a jewelry store or if there were really any gun shots fired. No arrest has been made either. At around 7 pm at the 1st floor of the SM North EDSA the criminals allegedly smashed the glass display of a jewelry store which mostly contained watches. The suspects then ran to the ground level food court. Police blocked the mall entrances and other access areas as mall visitors went on panic. Gunshots were allegedly heard but this was not confirmed by the SM Supermalls Pres. Garcia who couldn't say if the suspects were armed. The Martilyo gang gained their name for using hammers in their heist, sometimes even buying the hammer from inside the store in the mall that they intend to rob.
