Philippines-OWWA Promises Help for OFW's Repatriated from Sudan
Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) has extended assistance to the 11 overseas Pilipino workers, who were recently repatriated from war torn South Sudan. Dept. of Foreign Affairs initiated its voluntarily repatriation program for OFW's staying in the oil rich country after rebel groups ceased its capital city during the weekend sparking widespread unrest. Around 95 Pilipinos were staying in South Sudan prior to the incident. OWWA administrator Dimzon said the 1st batch of repatriated workers arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) last Wednesday via Emirates Airline flight EK 334. The group was comprised of professionals, engineers and construction workers. Dimzon said they will also offer them short skills training and possible local and overseas employment opportunities.
