Philippines-Customs Commissioner Biazon Urged to Resign on His Position
The Customs Commissioner Ruffy Biazon should voluntarily relinquish his post following his alleged involvement in the Php 10 Billion PDAF "Pork Barrel" Scam, House Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr. said Sunday. The embattled commissioner, who was named a respondent in the latest batch of cases filed in connection with the pork barrel scandal, should resign before Pres. Aquino III makes "some changes" to the bureau. "I think he should offer to quit" House Speaker Belmonte Jr. said on an interview. Biazon was slapped with malversation for allegedly funneling his pork barrel to bogus NGO linked to businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles when he was still a congresswoman representing Muntinlupa City. Pres. Communications Operations Office Sec. Herminio Coloma Jr. hinted that there might be some changes following the filing of case against Biazon which is ironically an ally of PNoy. He assured the public that the Aquino government wouldn't coddle the administration allies who are proven to be involved in the PDAF Scam.
