Philippines-Taiwan Will Send Relief Goods for Super Typhoon Yolanda Survivors
A Taiwanese Cheung He Class Tank Landing Ship carrying 530 metric tons of relief goods for the Philippines in the wake of Super Typhoon Yolanda in now en route to Cebu. According to the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Manila, the ship is expected to arrive at its destination on Friday. The supplies included Solar Generator, tents, rice, clothing, crackers and cookies, ready to eat food and drinking water, all donated by the ROC citizens, civic organizations and charity groups such as the World Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce, Dharma Drum Mountain, Roman Catholic Diocese of Taichung and National Fisherman's Association. The Cheung He class tank landing ship is expected to reach Cebu in 4 days. This shipment follows the delivery to the Philippines of more than 150 tons of aids and supplies in 18 flights by Taiwan Air Force C-130 Hercules cargo planes over the last week. Monetary and material donations from Taiwanese people and government have now reached $7.27 Million.
