The Malacanang said that it will be studying the Supreme Court's decision declaring the unconstitutionality of the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) or pork barrel. Pres. Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Sec. Coloma Jr. said they wouldn't comment on the matter until they are able to receive a copy of the Supreme Court decision. The Supreme Court voting 14-0 declared PDAF unconstitutional. Prior to decision of the high court, the Aquino administration had been appealing to the Supreme Court for the lifting of the Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) on the use of PDAF for scholarships and medical assistance. He said that the students who have scholarships under PDAF should not be hindered from getting a good education while those whose illnesses are getting medical treatment using PDAF should continue receiving medical aid. Supreme Court issued a TRO on the releases of the remaining PDAF for this year last Sep.
