Philippines-Solons has Intention to Give Open Hands to Victims of Super Typhoon Yolanda
The resident of Ivisan, Capiz stays on their damaged houses as they wait for the relief goods that will be given by the government. Meanwhile the City of Valenzuela Rep. Gatchalian and City of Quezon Rep. Castelo have vowed to adopt the remaining survivors of Super Typhoon Yolanda on Tuesday. In a press briefing Rep. Gatchalian and Rep. Castelo said that their congressional districts in the NCR can provide shelter to 300 victims. However Castelo stressed that their adoption and acceptance with the victims of the Super Typhoon Yolanda is only temporary as his territory faces its own struggle and problems. He said "We have our own problems in metropolis and we are not prepared to build another layer of urban poor." He also said that the adoption will only aid the victims to overcome the trauma that they had experienced, a fare will also be provided once they opt to go back to their home provinces. On the other hand Rep. Gatchalian said he is willing to adopt families who flew to Manila without relatives and he is willing to provide food and temporary shelters despite the PDAF is not present. He said that: "We still have funding although it is already limited. We also have foreign donations to victims." , he believes in the power of generosity and so will try to appeal to NGO's for support.
