Philippines-PNoy Goes Talks with Biazon
Pres. Aquino III waves the crowd after leading the flag-raising and wreath-laying rites at the Bonifacio National Monument in Caloocan City yesterday, as the nation commemorates the 150th birth anniversary of revolutionary hero Andres Bonifacio. Malacanang yesterday said PNoy is planning to talk to the Customs Commissioner Ruffy Biazon after he was charged with 33 others in connection with the PDAF Scam. Biazon, an ally of the president was charged with malversation for allegedly diverting his Pork Barrel fund when he was still a congressman representing Muntinlupa City to dubious non-government organizations linked to a businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles. Coloma however said there is no information on rumors that Biazon will be removed from his post, adding that resigning out of delicadeza is "an individual decision." "Sec. De Lima said the complaint has been submitted for review and evaluation by the Ombudsman and while the review and evaluation process is ongoing, there is no legal compulsion for Commissioner Biazon to go on leave." Coloma said.
