1. She May Be Miss Philippines, But She’s From America!
Just more proof that the United States brews the best women, am I right? Megan, 23, was actually born in Alexandra, Va. to a Filipino mother and an American father, according to the Guardian Express. Her family moved to the Philippines when she was 10 years old.
2. She’s A TV Star
You won’t see Megan on any American television, but she launched her career in the entertainment business at the age of 15 when she appeared on the Filipino talent show StarStruck. After finishing in the top six, Megan has gone on to act in Filipino shows and appear on reality TV. She has also hosted several shows for the network Studio 23.
3. But Acting Isn’t All She Aspires To
Megan also wants to get behind the camera! She is currently studying digital filmmaking at De La Salle – College of Saint Benilde in Manila, Philippines. “I have always wanted to send a message through my films, whether it be an eye-opener or just something a little unusual to the eye,” she states in her Miss World introduction video.

Megan admits that she was way more into technology than everyone in her classes and that she was always the nerd in school — but we’ve never seen a geek look like her!
