The Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras called by the Deputy Minister of Interior, Mr. Charalambos Athanassiou, to formulate and promote a bill that would meet the assumptions and decisions of the Court.
Reminded that yesterday the Council of State confirmed the original suggestions had forced the government to freeze the procedures related to the adoption.
The consequences of this decision will be to cancel all operations citizenship award from 2010 to today who were either born in Greece or foreign parents attended Greek schools, and will discuss the fate of the 2010 municipal elections in those polling stations where Foreigners were enrolled on the electoral roll.
The Council of State notes that the provisions of this law conflict with the requirements of the Constitution as provided for naturalization unconstitutional law (3838/10) is based purely formal conditions (year legal residence of the applicant an alien or his family, attending Greek school for some time, lack of conviction for certain serious offenses) and without individualized crisis to assist the substantive requirements of the bond to the Greek nation that the alien applying for naturalization.
It also states that the right to vote is restricted to Greek citizens and can not be extended to those without property, without reviewing the relevant provision of the Constitution.
